Training Under Realistic Conditions

Whether searching for people with rescue dogs, orientation training, or complex scenarios for fire services and civil protection - the mine offers diverse training scenarios that simulate real emergencies. If desired, exercises can take place completely in the dark to expose teams and dogs to particularly challenging mission situations.

Rescue Dog Teams Train at Velsen Mining Experience

In May 2013, 35 rescue dogs from Germany and Luxembourg - including mantrailers - completed a multi-day training at Velsen Mining Experience. The special structure of the underground area offered ideal conditions for search, orientation, and mission exercises with numerous realistic scenarios. The mine proved to be a versatile training ground with challenging tasks for dogs and emergency teams.
